Miscible with water, low grade aliphatic alcohols, glycerol, acetic acid, acetone and similar ketones, aldehydes, pyridine and similar coal tar bases, slightly soluble in ether, almost insoluble in benzene and its congeners, chlorinated hydrocarbons and oil.
