Product Description
Polyvinyl chloride, abbreviated as PVC in English, is a vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) used as an initiator in peroxides, azo compounds, and other applications; Polymers that are polymerized according to the mechanism of free radical polymerization under the action of light and heat. Vinyl chloride homopolymer and vinyl chloride copolymer are collectively referred to as vinyl chloride resin.
PVC is a white powder with an amorphous structure, low branching degree, relative density of about 1.4, and a glass transition temperature of 77~90 ºC. It begins to decompose at around 170 ºC and has poor stability to light and heat. When exposed to sunlight for a long time or above 100 ºC, it will decompose and produce hydrogen chloride, which will further catalyze decomposition, causing color change and rapid decline in physical and mechanical properties. In practical applications, stabilizers must be added to improve the stability to heat and light.
